Tampak depan gedung tengah Museum Transportasi TMII Jakarta Timur saat itu. Di depan halaman gedung terdapat instalasi Mercusuar ZM Willem III buatan tahun 1879 dari bahan baja tahan karat. Motor listriknya tiga pass dengan lampu pijar berkekuatan 1000 watt yang bisa dilihat dari jarak 20 mil laut. Mercusuar merupakan sahabat para nelayan dan para pelaut.

Sebuah koleksi Museum Transportasi TMII Jakarta yang disimpan di ruang pamer di dalam gedung bernama Cikar Damri dan merupakan armada pertama DAMRI pada 1946 yang digunakan untuk mengangkut keperluan logistik bagi satuan militer di daerah Banyumas. Cikar sejenis ini, yang di kampung-kampung pun sekarang sudah agak sulit ditemui, pada jaman itu juga digunakan di Kota Surabaya dan Mojokerto.

A collection of the Transportation Museum which was stored in the showroom inside the building called Cikar Damri and was DAMRI's first fleet in 1946 which was used to transport logistical needs for military units in Banyumas area. Becak Motor asal Siantar sehingga juga disebut Becak Siantar di Museum Transportasi TMII, menggabungkan becak dengan penggerak sepeda motor dengan cc besar. Di sebelahnya disebut Becak Medan berupa sepeda genjot, dengan tempat penumpang yang di samping.

Rakit Joko Tingkir dari bambu gelondongan yang diikat tali bambu, yang dipakai untuk ke Kota Raja Demak dari Banyu Biru. Ketika dihadang buaya putih, Jaka Tingkir berhasil menaklukkannya, dan buaya itu yang membantu mendorong getek agar lebih cepat laju.

Jika melangkah ke kiri lewat rel, akan dijumpai tengara “Kemijen”, nama desa di Semarang dimana stasiun kereta api pertama di Indonesia dibangun. Seremonial di desa itu berlangsung pada Jumat 17 Juni 1864 dengan dilakukannya pencangkulan pertama pengerjaan jalan kereta api oleh Gubernur Jenderal Hindia Belanda, L.A.J Baron Sloet van den Beele.

Di ruang pamer luar Museum Transportasi TMII ada Lokomotif Uap tipe 10437 asli, berbahan bakar kayu yang hanya bisa mencapai kecepatan maksimum 10 km / jam.

In the showroom outside the Transportation Museum there's an original Steam Locomotive type 10437, fueled with wood that could only reach a maximum speed of 10 km / hour.



Lokomotif yang dibuat tahun 1911 oleh pabrik lokomotif Henschel & Sohn Cassel Jerman Barat ini digunakan di Pabrik Gula Gempol Cirebon dari tahun 1912 s/d 1995.

This locomotive, which was made in 1911 by the West Germany Henschel & Sohn Cassel locomotive factory, was used at the Cirebon Gempol Sugar Factory from 1912 to 1995.

Masih di ruang pamer luar Museum Transportasi TMII terdapat bus tingkat pertama yang digunakan di Indonesia, dinamai Si Jangkung Merah. Bus tahun 1968 ini bermerk Leyland, Inggris, dirakit PN PPD dengan panjang 9,5 m, lebar 2,5 m, tinggi 4,45 m, melayani rute Blom M – Salemba – Senen. Di sebelah kirinya adalah bus kota yang pernah dioperasikan oleh DAMRI.

Still in the showroom outside the Transportation Museum, there's the first double-decker bus used in Indonesia, named Si Jangkung Merah (The Red Tall). The 1968 bus, branded Leyland, England, was assembled by PN PPD with a length of 9.5 m, 2.5 m width, 4.45 m high, serving the Blom M - Salemba - Senen route. To the left is a city bus once operated by DAMRI.



Melangkah lebih jauh ke bagian kiri di halaman luar Museum Transportasi TMII terdapat Taman Lalu Lintas. Di dekat area ini juga dipajang beberapa buah mobil taksi generasi pertama.

Perahu tradisional bernama “Jayapura I” di ruang pamer luar Museum Transportasi TMII, yang digunakan sebagai sarana penghubung di sepanjang pesisir Utara Kabupaten Jayapura, Irian Jaya.

Di belakang Taman Lalu Lintas adalah koleksi lokomotif dan gerbong yang disimpan di sebuah area sangat luas. Di area ini juga dibuat tiruan terowongan kereta api, dan dipamerkan Kereta Api Luar Biasa (KLB) yang digunakan Presiden Soekarno dan Wakil Presiden Moh Hatta sewaktu pemerintahan RI pindah ke Yogyakarta.

Behind the Traffic Park was a collection of locomotives and carriages stored in a very large area. Tulisan pada bagian samping Cikar DAMRI yang berbunyi "(D.A.M.R.I) Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Repoeblik Indonesia Di Banyumas 1946." Begitulah rupanya kepanjangan dari singkatan DAMRI.

Tampak belakang Cikar DMRI dengan tulisan yang menyebutkan bahwa angkutan tradisional ini merupakan armada pertama DAMRI pada tahun 1945 - 1950. Di Purwokerto, dari jaman saya masih kecil, memang ada gedung dan terminal khusus DAMRI untuk jurusan ke luar kota.

Di sebelah kiri adalah Perahu Lesung yang dibuat Suku Asmat tahun 1990, dengan panjang 1170 cm, lebar 50 cm, tinggi 110 cm, dalam 34 cm. Dibuat dari kayu kuning atau kayu susu / yerat yang dikupas kulitnya, diruncingkan ujungnya, dan bagian dalamnya dilubangi hingga berbentuk lesung. Haluan perahu diberi ornamen Cicemen, yaitu ukiran burung dan roh nenek moyang. Di sebelah kanan adalah Perahu Banjar atau perahu tambangan yang dapat memuat 20 orang dan ada sejak abad ke-17 di jaman Kerajaan Banjar. Perahu jenis ini masih digunakan kawasan pasar terapung Banjarmasin.

Ruang khusus yang memamerkan sarana transportasi udara, seperti koleksi pesawat latih jenis Airtourer TG 24 register PK-ATV bermesin tunggal jenis piston low wing buatan New Zealand tahun 1969 yang dipakai di Curug pada 1971 s/d 1978. Di ruangan ini ada pula helikopter, miniatur pesawat Garuda dan Merpati serta perjalanan sejarahnya, peralatan Bandar udara, dll.

Lampu Navigasi Palayaran jenis revolving buatan pabrik AGA Swedia tahun 1883 dengan bahan bakar gas acetylene yang pernah digunakan di Pelabuhan Sorong. Di sebelahnya adalah Lampu Navigasi Pelayaran type PP375 buatan Pintch Bamag Jerman tahun 1883 dengan bahan bakar gas propane ex-Beting Raja, Kepulauan Sambu. Ada pula Lampu Navigasi Pelayaran jenis lampu sektor buatan BBT Perancis tahun 1914 dengan bahan bakar gas acetylene yang pernah dipakai di Pelabuhan Panjang.

Koleksi Museum Transportasi TMII berupa sepeda motor Honda Bebek generasi pertama yang dulu saya juga pernah punya. Ada pula koleksi Vespa antik buatan Itali, dan beberapa motor besar yang bisa membawa memori pada masa lalu.

Lori Dayung buatan 1922, berkapasitas empat orang, yang digunakan untuk memeriksa rel kereta api. Lori ini digunakan oleh eks Sk Babat Daop VIII Surabaya. Lalu ada Lori Genjot buatan 1940 yang digunakan oleh Stasiun Madiun dari tahun 1940 s/d 1945.

Di dekat lori saya melihat ada dua anak tengah memainkan tuas Sinyal 21 Ganda buatan bangkel teknik Kiaracondong Bandung tahun 1989, terdiri dari unit lemari blok lengkap dan unit handel /lemari mistar 1 x 21 ganda.
