It was not so easy to find location of the Cibubur Telaga Fishing Pool because of the absence of adequate road directions, so I got lost several times inside the Buperta complex, before finally finding an entrance that ended in a rather large parking area. The photo above was taken from the parking lot. It started because I almost always encountered difficulties when visiting a place like this which made me always try to mark the GPS in every place I visited.
Area Kolam Pemancingan Telaga Cibubur saat itu masih kosong melompong. Ada dua lajur pemancingan yang saling berhadapan berjarak cukup jauh, dengan jumlah lapak masing-masing 49 buah. Di tengah-tengahnya ada saluran pipa cukup besar dengan pompa-pompa yang diletakkan di setiap beberapa meter untuk mengatur sirkulasi air dan oksigen. Di lajur kanan terlihat sejumlah kedi tengah bekerja dengan asiknya. Mereka membantu para pemancing mempersiapkan umpan yang akan dipakai pada saat lomba. Kemenangan dalam lomba dimulai dari persiapan serius yang dilakukan dalam meracik umpan.
The Cibubur Telaga Fishing Pool area was still empty. There are two fishing lanes facing each other quite far away, with 49 stalls each. In the center was a pipeline large enough with pumps placed every few meters to regulate the circulation of water and oxygen. In the right lane, you could see a number of caddies working in a fun way. They help the anglers prepare the bait that will be used during the race. The victory in the competition starts from the serious preparations made in mixing the bait.
Lapak pancing yang berada di sisi kanan, dengan latar belakang area parkir. Beberapa orang kedi (caddy) tampak tengah bekerja mempersiapkan umpan. Masing-masing pemain tampaknya memiliki kedi langganan, dengan jenis dan ramuan umpan berbeda, sesuai kepercayaan dan ‘ilmu’ masing-masing.

Masuk kantin, itulah hal pertama yang saya lakukan setelah sampai di area Kolam Pemancingan Telaga Cibubur. Mengisi perut tentu saja, dengan masakan rumahan yang bisa dipilih jenisnya sesuka selera, ditemani dengan segelas teh pahit panas. Pelayanannya cepat, kantinnya cukup bersih, dan rasa makanannya pun cocok di selera lidah. Harganya juga pantas, tak mencekik saku. Meski tak bisa dikatakan ramai lantaran jam memancing belum lagi tiba, namun sudah cukup banyak orang yang terlihat sibuk mempersiapkan umpan yang akan dipakai nanti.
Entering the canteen, that's the first thing I did after arriving at the Cibubur Telaga Fishing Pond area. Filling the stomach of course, with home cooking that can be selected according to taste, accompanied by a glass of hot bitter tea. The service is fast, the canteen is quite clean, and the taste of the food matches your taste buds. The price is also reasonable, not robbing the wallet. Although it cannot be said that it's busy because fishing time has not yet arrived, there were enough people who were busy preparing the baits to be used later.
Seorang kedi tengah memotong-motong cumi untuk umpan, dibantu oleh seorang temannya. Ada campuran tertentu yang ditambahkan ke dalam umpan ini agar lebih jos dan lebih cepat disambar ikan. Kepintaran meramu umpan dipercayai bisa menentukan keberhasilan pemain. Ketika tengah mengamati mereka bekerja, si kedi nyeletuk bahwa Kolam Pemancingan Telaga Cibubur ini airnya sangat dalam.
A caddy was chopping squid for bait, assisted by a friend. There's a certain mixture added to this bait to make it more juicy and quick to catch the fish. The intelligence of concocting bait is believed to be able to determine the success of the player. While watching them work, the kedi said that the Cibubur Telaga Fishing Pool was very deep.

Lapak-lapak masih sepi. Lomba memancing dimulai tepat pukul 3 sore dan berakhir 3 jam kemudian. Pengundian lapak dilakukan sepuluh menit sebelum lomba dimulai. Peserta dipungut Rp250.000 untuk tiket merah, dan Rp200.000 untuk tiket biasa.
The stalls were still quiet. The fishing competition starts at exactly 3pm and ends 3 hours later. The stalls were drawn ten minutes before the race starts. Participants were charged IDR 250,000 for a red ticket, and IDR 200,000 for a regular ticket.
Salah satu pompa air yang memasok oksigen ke dalam kolam yang tengah diistirahatkan. Ada terlihat cukup banyak pompa seperti ini di sepanjang tengah kolam pemancingan.
One of the water pumps supplied oxygen to the pond which was resting. There were seen quite a number of pumps like this along the center of the fishing pond.
Di latar depan adalah sekumpulan kedi yang telah menyiapkan umpan buat pemancing. Agak jauh di belakang mereka adalah kantin yang cukup luas, makanannya juga cukup enak. Sebuah gazebo yang cukup besar juga ada di seberang kantin.
In the foreground was a group of caddies who had prepared bait for the anglers. Quite far behind them was a fairly large canteen, the food was also quite tasty. A fairly large gazebo was also there across the canteen.
Cumi dan belut yang tampaknya tengah dipotong-potong oleh kedi. Namun ada campuran lain yang dicampurkan ke dalam umpan ini agar lebih mantap, dan sepertinya setiap kedi atau pemancing memiliki rumus sendiri dalam menyiapkan umpannya.
There were squid and eels that the kedi seemed to be chopping up. But there were other mixtures that were mixed into the bait to make it more stable, and it's likely that every caddy or fisherman has his own formula for preparing the bait.
